Data Management
ScoutAM is built for exabyte-scale unstructured data: scale-out with no single point of failure, roughly 10 GB/s of throughput per node, and unlimited-capacity licensing with predictable pricing. Its open foundations include the GPLv2 ScoutFS clustered filesystem and the Apache-licensed Versity S3 Gateway, developed with collaborators including Los Alamos National Laboratory and Pawsey. Zero Data Migration reads legacy archive formats in place, from HPE DMF, IBM HPSS and TSM, Oracle HSM and Quantum StorNext, so you can modernise without a forklift migration. For collections beyond about 5 petabytes, Versity cost profile is 5 to 10 times better than public cloud.
HPC
ScoutAM offloads checkpoints, simulation output and completed project data from expensive parallel filesystems to economical archive tiers. At Pawsey, more than 1,600 researchers access the archive through standard S3, with 68 parallel tape drives working behind the scenes.
AI Factories
AI pipelines need vast training and results data kept accessible, not buried. ScoutAM feeds AI data lakes through standard file and S3 interfaces and tiers cold data to tape, keeping flash budgets for the data that earns it.

For the Pawsey implementation XENON delivered the complete solution: design, racks with rear-door heat exchangers, servers, fabric, tape libraries, pre-staging and load testing, training and ongoing managed support. Versity also hosts its APAC user group at Pawsey.
